The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi hosted a three-day event called “Destination Thailand” at Select CITYWALK, Saket, New Delhi, from 26-28 September 2009, showcasing Thailand in all aspects, namely trade, investment, tourism and culture. The event was organized in cooperation with several Thai representations in India, namely the Office of Commercial Affairs, Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Airways International, as well as Select CITYWALK.

The three-day event included Thai trade fair with various Thai products for display and for sale, tourism promotion activities, Thai food fair and cooking demonstration, Thai spa and massage as well as Thai cultural performances. Over 10,000 people joined the festival and were impressed by rich heritage and culture of Thailand.

H.E. Mr. Krit Kraichitti, Ambassador of Thailand, inaugurated the event on 26 September 2009. Speaking on the occasion, the Ambassador said Destination Thailand is a belief and idea to promote Thailand in New Delhi and NCR in several areas, namely Indo-Thai trade, investment, tourism and cultural relations. The festival showcases Thailand, varying from food, handicrafts and products, hospitality services, traditional Thai massage to cultural performances. Our aim is to spread the message that both India and Thailand share much in common; values of family, beliefs and customs, cultural heritage and the ability to infuse traditional knowledge with contemporary practice. It is our endeavor to strengthen ties in all dimensions.”
